KDLoves x Xavier China: The Kelling Collection

Xavier China is delighted to introduce its latest collaboration with KD Loves

Launching on 11th August 2021, we have collaborated with renowned interior design team at Kelling Designs to present the Kelling Collection, a range of fine bone china tableware in Kelling's signature bold colours and patterns, with contrasting trims.

Combining centuries-old English craftsmanship with contemporary design, the two brands have worked together to produce a classic and colourful collection with day-to-day living in mind.

Charlotte Baly, Co-Founder of Xavier China comments:

"The Kelling Collection showcases the best of British design and manufacturing. It's beautiful yet practical; vibrant and striking; and a classic design to suit all seasons. When queen of colour, Emma Deterding approached us, we knew it would be a match made in heaven. We can't wait to fill kitchens across the country with this fantastic tableware that will look stunning on the table and in the dishwasher!"

Emma Deterding, Founder and Creative Director of Kelling Designs and KDLoves comments:

"We wanted to create a collection that featured bold colours with coloured rims that didn't wash off in the dishwasher. It's been a journey learning about how a kiln affects colours, especially when you put pink on orange, but Charlotte and Nicky at Xavier have been brilliant and I think we have created something that will be bold and fun on your dining table. Enjoy!"

KDLoves and Xavier China set out to create a collection that is as practical as it is luxurious. With six gorgeous colours available across dinner, pudding and side plates, soup bowls and mugs, you can choose colours individually or mix-and-match for a colourful, rainbow-inspired effect. One of the most hardwearing tableware ranges on the market today, The Kelling Collection is ideal for day to day use being fully microwave-safe, dishwasher-friendly and chip-resistant.

Traditional bone china contains at least 45% bone ash, which not only gives the ware a special translucency, but immense durability. The calcium in the bone means the plates don't chip or break even when you knock them. Using traditional productions methods, this ware contatins 50% bone ash, making it even stronger, brigther and whiter than other ranges.

Similarly, the colours have been produced using traditional silk screen printing methods, and is finished with a hand-painted 'rolled edge' that showcases the vivid Kelling colours across the whole plate. The depth and durability of the colour is guaranteed by an extra layer of  'coverflux' which ensures they remain as vivid and colourful for many years to come.
