Annie Tempest Partners with Xavier Britain to Bring Beloved “Tottering by Gently” Cartoons to Fine Bone China

Celebrated British cartoonist Annie Tempest signs exclusive licensing agreement with Xavier Britain

Annie Tempest, the acclaimed creator of the much-loved Tottering-by-Gently cartoons featured weekly in Country Life magazine, has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with Xavier Britain, specialists in the design and manufacture of high-quality fine bone china tableware made in England.

This exciting new collaboration brings the inimitable charm and wit of Tottering Hall’s Dicky and Daffy to life on fine bone china, marrying iconic British humour with timeless craftsmanship. Fans of Tottering-by-Gently will now be able to enjoy their favourite characters over tea, supper—or simply on display—as part of an elegant and collectible new tableware range.

Each piece in the collection will be crafted from the finest English bone china, renowned for its delicate translucency, durability, and luxurious feel. The illustrations, printed with exceptional clarity, capture the spirit and humour that has made Tottering-by-Gently a beloved fixture of British culture for nearly three decades.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to British heritage - both in artistic expression and traditional craftsmanship. 'We’re honoured to be collaborating with Annie,' said Charlotte from Xavier Britain. 'The Tottering universe has delighted us all for decades, and we’re immensely proud to support British design and manufacture through this partnership.'

The new collection will make perfect gifts for art lovers, Anglophiles, and fans of Tottering alike - bringing a dash of humour, history, and refinement to every table.

The first pieces from the Tottering by Gently x Xavier Britain collection will be available online and at select retailers from May 2025.
